The three large workshops are equipped to allow boys to work with a wide variety of resilient materials. There are also specialist rooms for Computer Aided Design, Graphics and Electronics. In the first two years all pupils take part in the National Curriculum course in Design and Technology. This involves designing and making a variety of projects, with the use of a range of materials, processes, tools and components. In the Third Form, boys may opt to study - Resistant Materials, Systems and Control or Graphical Products. These courses may be extended to the G.C.S.E. taken at the end of the Fourth Form. In the Sixth Form, the department offers an A/S course in Product Design as well as providing a range of General Studies courses. |
