On Thursday 19th January the Habs community of parents, grandparents, and staff were treated to the sights and sounds of the school’s finest string players at the Strings Concert, in the Seldon Hall. The depth and strength of the chamber music making in the school was tremendous, from the virtuosic Violin Quartet to the brilliant Bass Ensemble with an impressive array of string quartets in between.
The second half of the concert saw over a hundred boys performing in the two orchestras, continuing on from the String Orchestra in the first half; a fantastic opportunity to see the incredible development that goes on in the few years the boys spend at HABS. Special mention and congratulations from the school go to Joseph Pathmarajah and Ross Malloy for winning the Sheila Watson String Prize, which was awarded during the concert.
