In order to standardise our procedures and because of a change in the format of the English paper, we are not publishing the 2012 Mathematics Paper or 2012 English Paper on our website this year.
English
We have slightly altered the format of the 11+ English paper. There will still be a traditional reading comprehension and a writing exercise. There will be two additional new sections, both testing the candidate’s ability to solve language-related puzzles. No specialist knowledge is required to achieve marks on these additional sections.
Mathematics
The format of the Mathematics paper evolves but is largely unchanged.
A mixture of questions on
verbal, non-verbal and mathematical reasoning. We recommend the use of
sample papers available from major newsagents such as W.H.Smith. It is
useful to practise 2 or 3 of these papers to familiarise the candidate with
the style of question, but not to overdo it!
