8:50 - 8:55
Registration
The school day starts with a period for registration
which is from 8:50 to 8:55. Then, depending on the day, students
go to various assemblies or have a Form period from 9:00 to 9:15
where various issues to do with school life and current affairs
are discussed. There is a rich diversity of spiritual life and
on Thursday, pupils have the opportunity to go to one of various
religious
assemblies.

Period 1
The first academic session of the day, where pupils
have two lessons lasting until 10:35.

Period 2
10:35 - 10:55
Break
A short break of 20 minutes during which students
can have a snack in the Bates dining hall or at the Tuck shop, until
10:55.
10:55 - 11:30
Period 3
The day continues with 3 more lessons, after which
there is a lunch break of one and a quarter hours although this may
be more depending on which year group the student is in.

12:05 - 12:40 / 12:45 / 12:50
Period 5
13:20 - 14:00
Activities
During the lunch break, students can dine in the Bates dining hall
and can choose to take part in a variety of societies and extra-curricular
activities.
The students are also free to go to the library to read or to work,
and to go to the playground for their year group.

Period 6
After
lunch, students have three more lessons, or an afternoon of Games,
after which they can either go home or stay until
5:30 for after school
activities or to use the library.

N.B. The earlier coaches leave at 4.15 promptly, and the later coaches at 5.30, for those boys who stay for extra curricular activities or study in the
library.
