It has been a fantastic start to the season for the U14 and U16 athletics teams. Both age groups have convincingly won their first two league meetings, putting them top of their respective leagues. Although these have been great team performances from the entire squads, there have been several outstanding individual performances both on the track and in the field.

The pick of the U16 squad to far this season have been Olasubomi Anidugbe in the 400m (54.5sec) and the Triple Jump (11.75), Max Jenkins – 1500m (4.49min) and Javelin (39.5m), Scott Spurling – 100m (11.9sec) and Discus (34.3m) and James Edmunds - High Jump (1.73), Pole Vault (3.10m) and the 80 Hurdles (11.9sec).

The best U14 performances have come from Phillip Sadgrove in the Shot and 200m, and from Darius Price in the High Jump (1.60m).

The two squads are now training for the first round of the National Schools Track and Field Athletics Cup.
