Physics Challenge 2008

In the recent 'Physics Challenge' competition, a paper open to all year 11 students in Britain, James Glanville was among only five pupils to be given recognition for achieving an outstanding mark and a gold certificate. James was subsequently awarded a book prize and congratulations from the Minister of Science and Innovation, Ian Pearson MP and Sir Peter Williams FRS, chairman of the National Physical Laboratory, at an awards ceremony at the Royal Society in Piccadilly on 24th April. The event also included a talk on using Physics to 'Look Inside the Body' by Dr. Bill Vennart.

James was joined by other students who gained outstanding marks in both the Challenge and the Olympiad (for sixth form students) from Eton College, St. Paul's School London, Charterhouse, Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe and Manchester Grammar School amongst others.
