"Habs fostered individuality even when teaching the basics." |
Peter Oppenheimer, Fellow, Christ Church College, Oxford |
There were wins for the Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 teams in the District Athletics Championships on Wednesday 1st July. Habs narrowly missed out on a clean sweep with the Year 10 team coming second by just 2 points. However, the 4 squads did win the overall Boys Shield by some margin. Habs had many District Champions in each year group, while Efe Uwaifo won the best performance trophy by a Year 9 boy for his winning jump of 12.53 in the Triple Jump.

Afterwards, the teams, along with the very successful Habs Girls athletics squads, went out for their traditional end of season celebration dinner. Mr Lowe (Head of Athletics), sipping a cocktail, said 'The future of athletics at the school looks very good, we have some very talented Juniors coming through who showed real potential today'
