"I benefited throughout my life from a school where the intellectual stimulus was enormous and there was full appreciation for non-academic pursuits."
Lord Brittan
Junior Science Fair 2009
During the summer term, all Year 7 boys prepared and presented projects based on this year’s theme of Water. The quality of the presentations was very pleasing; many of the boys had clearly enjoyed the competition and put a good deal of effort into their projects.
The overall winners of the Science Fair were Alec Moore, Bishman Manivannan, and Benedict Jones all from 7C with a project on Hydroelectric Power. They produced a superb, home-made model of a turbine (involving a lot of water!) which they used to power an l.e.d.. Their presentation was excellent and their knowledge of the processes involved was first rate.
The team were awarded the ‘Lexton Cup’, a trophy named in recognition of the immense contribution of Dr Lexton to the Science Department over 32 years.
