On Sunday 11th December forty HABS Year 8 and Year 9 Germanists along with six staff members braved the inclement weather to take part in a trip to Birmingham in order to explore the German Weihnachtsmarkt.
With over ninety stalls this is the largest authentic German Christmas market outside Germany and Austria. The boys were able to venture round a range of stalls offering many German Christmas delights and sample some typical seasonal specialities including Stollen and Lebkuchen, as well as traditional favourites such as Bratwurst and Pretzels.
The boys thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, partaking in some last minute Christmas shopping whilst learning some valuable German vocabulary along the way!
Prizes were awarded to James Benson, Anushtop Ghosh and Roshan Panesar who achieved the highest marks in the quiz.
