Meadows Junior charity swimathon

In kicking off the ‘Meadows for Meadows’ charity campaign for the academic year, the boys from 7M and 8M took part in a Swimathon challenge. The boys gathered together on Thursday to swim as many lengths of the school swimming pool as they could in 20 minutes - it was not a competition of who could swim the most laps, but instead it was about pushing oneself for a very worthy cause indeed and that is exactly what the Meadows boys did.
In total, the two forms raised a staggering £1,340 through sponsorships from friends and family; in particular, a special mention must go to Rohin Bhuptani of 7M who alone raised £242.

The money raised through the ‘Meadows for Meadows’ campaign will be going towards this year’s house charity, The Meadows School - a non-maintained school supported by Barnardo’s which provides education for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. The target for this year has been to raise £3000 for the charity and given the drive and enthusiasm shown by the Meadows boys in such charity events, it looks certain that this target will be achieved with Meadows mufTIE day and Battle of the Bands already in the pipeline.
