The Pre-Preparatory and Preparatory Schools are vibrant with the energy and curiosity of over 250 boys aged 5-11 from a wide range of local schools and communities. They are very special places to work and play.
We pride ourselves on providing an inspiring learning environment where your son will make the maximum possible progress. We want him to have tremendous fun and to genuinely enjoy his learning which, we believe, are the most important aspects of the first years of his education.
The Prep School is housed in a purpose-designed building, opened by HRH The Princess Margaret, Citizen and Haberdasher, in 1983. We are fortunate to be sited on the Senior School campus of 100 acres of woodland and parkland; yet we are less than 20 miles from central London, and near to the M1 and M25 motorways. The setting of the School ensures our boys are able to experience a wide range of experiences which help them to develop confidence in a safe but challenging environment.
The School day is varied and stimulating. Our highly-qualified teachers and teaching assistants ensure that there is a balanced mix of academic curriculum subjects, which are studied every day, blended with practical subjects and also games such as rugby, football and swimming.
We blend traditional values, such as good manners, respect and integrity, with a modern approach to education which we believe will prepare your son for the next stage in his life; to instil in him the self-confidence and resilience to face the future with assurance and optimism and be ready to take part in everything the world has to offer him.
We were delighted and humbled that Habs Prep has been placed as the No.1 independent junior school in the nation by The Sunday Times. This award represents the boys’ vitality and ability, as well as the outstanding teaching of the talented staff.
I hope our website will provide you with a glimpse into life at Habs Prep; the energy and enthusiasm which make it such a wonderful place to work and to learn.
I look forward to meeting you when you visit the School.
Mr Matteo Rossetti
Head of the Preparatory and Pre-Preparatory Schools
