Entry is for boys aged 16 or below 17 on 1 September 2021.
This is a new point of entry at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School and will be a very small cohort who will join our thriving Sixth Form of approximately 340 students across Years 12 and 13.
In order to obtain a 16+ place at Habs, applicants will require, as a minimum, six 8 or 9 grades at GCSE plus four 7s grades. They must have an 8 or 9 in any subject they wish to take for A level.
Pupils take three A level subjects, but they may take four if they wish to take Maths and Further Maths. In order to take Further Maths candidates must have a 9 in GCSE Maths. From September 2020 we have introduced the Aske Level as a supplement to A Levels, which draws from the best elements of the IB. From September 2021 we will also increase collaboration between ourselves and Habs Girls by ensuring that every Sixth Former is taught at least one subject in a mixed-gender class.
We would like to make you aware that we will contact your son’s current school for a Headteacher’s report and predicted grades at GCSE. If you register your son for 16+ there will be an internal A Level Options Evening on 5 November 2020. Further details will be sent out about this event.
