Habs welcomes historian Katja Hoyer

At lunchtime on Friday 2 July, the renowned Anglo-German historian Katja Hoyer spoke to our Year 10 History students. Her talk (via Zoom) was about the Allied Strategic Bombing of Germany in the Second World War, focusing especially on the bombing of Lübeck, the historic capital of the Hanseatic League, on the evening of 28 March 1942.

Katja Hoyer is a German-British historian specialising in Modern German history. Her debut book 'Blood and Iron' has been well-received by critics and academics alike. She is a member of the Royal Historical Society and her essays have featured in History Today and BBC History Extra. She written for the Spectator and Unherd on current political affairs in Germany.

The School is extremely grateful to Ms Hoyer for giving so generously of her time, for her thorough and engaging presentation and for answering our students' question with clarity and expertise.
