- 11+ Senior School Entry (Year 7)
Entry is for boys aged 11 and below the age of 12 on 1 September in the year of entry. Candidates take an entrance examination consisting of written papers in English and Mathematics, and an online reasoning examination in January. The entrance examination will now be either Thursday 17 December (PM) or Friday 18 December 2020 (ALL DAY). The use of calculators is not allowed. A number of boys are called forward for interview on the basis of their performance in the written examination and, amongst these boys, offers of places are subsequently made. Boys are not required to bring books, projects or other work with them to interview, but we ask one or both of a boy’s parents or guardians to attend at this time, in order to meet the Headmaster or the Deputy Head.
- 13+ Senior School Entry (Year 9)
Entry is for boys aged 13 and below the age of 14 on 1 September in the year of entry. Candidates take an entrance examination in January consisting of written papers in English, Mathematics, Science (Chemistry, Physics and Biology), General Humanities (this is a source-based not a syllabus-based paper),
French and Latin (for those boys who have studied Latin). Spanish and German assessments are also available. The date of the entrance examination is Thursday 7 January 2021. A number of boys are called forward for interview on the basis of their performance in the written examinations and, amongst these boys, offers of places are subsequently made.
For those participating in the 13+ entrance examinations in January 2021, please be aware there have been revisions to this year's examination due to the pandemic. We will no longer be including Languages as part of the assessments, however we will continue to test in Science, English, Maths and Humanities. These papers will be slightly shorter: 45 minutes in length.
All participants will be in a socially distanced environment.
- 16+ Senior School Entry (Year 12)
Entry is for boys aged 16 or below 17 on 1 September 2021. This is a new point of entry at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School and will be a very small cohort who will join our thriving Sixth Form of approximately 340 students across Years 12 and 13. In order to obtain a 16+ place at Habs, applicants will require, as a minimum, six 8 or 9 grades at GCSE plus four 7s grades. They must have an 8 or 9 in any subject they wish to take for A level. An Options Event will take place on Thursday 5 November 2020. The date of the assessment day will be Monday 23 November 2020 and will possible be via Zoom due to the pandemic.
