About the Foundation

The Haberdashers’ Boys’ School Foundation was established in 2008 to enable Old Haberdashers, parents and friends to support the school through donations, gifts and legacies. It builds on a long tradition of giving that dates back through the school’s history, supporting children to enable them to attend the school and benefit from an education that their parents could not otherwise afford.

It also organises a vibrant and extensive range of activities for the Habs community. Through the Foundation, Old Haberdashers are invited to regular reunions, social and sporting occasions, networking opportunities and school events throughout the year where they may reconnect with former classmates, colleagues and inspirational teachers.

In 2021, we expanded the mission of the HABS Foundation, and donors will now be able to support both the Boys' School and the Girls' School through the renamed Haberdashers’ Aske’s Elstree Schools’ Foundation (Charity Number 1107027). Donors can choose to support either school, or both, through their gifts. Any existing gifts intended solely for the Boys' School will be ringfenced accordingly.

In the academic year of 2020/21, 19 full bursaries were awarded to 11+ and 13+ starters. Another 87 pupils are in receipt of partial bursaries. Funded to a total sum of £1.8 million by the school and The Haberdashers' Aske's Elstree Schools Foundation, these 106 pupils represent almost 10% of the students in the Boys' Senior School.

There are many charities appealing for your generosity so why should Habs be at the top of your list? Your gift will:

  • Allow bright students from diverse backgrounds to receive an exceptional education that their parents could otherwise not afford
  • Build facilities and maintain the grounds that keep us at the forefront of the British independent school sector
  • Be your legacy to the future

The Haberdashers' Aske's Elstree Schools Foundation is a registered charity (number 1107027) and most donations can be made under the Gift Aid scheme.
